Early Watching Birds
Costa Rica has a world wide reputation for the number of bird’s species that inhabit this little patch of land. With over 850 species, at least 600 being permanent residents with a lot of cases of endemism, about one tenth of the world birds of the world are in Costa Rica. The OSA Peninsula, host about 365 species of birds it self, such as the Scarlet Macaws. This endangered species’ comeback has been very successful in the last years creating the larges growing population in the pacific side of the isthmus. This notorious flying rainbows plunging between the high canopies of the beach almond trees (Ternimalia Cattapa) are quite common and more likely in pairs. They are accompanied by of Toucans, Tanagers, Hummingbirds, Herons and a lot of more exotically colored birds in flame reds, sky blues and iridescent greens that will capture your eyes attention.
The avid birder and the beginner will have the opportunity to explore the Peninsula and get captured by the beauty and the majesty of these natural wonders.
